i've discovered the help file on NFS-howto.pdf. the following files
contain the entries listed on the right.
/etc/exports /misc/0/
192.168.100.102(rw)
/etc/hosts.deny portmap:ALL
/etc/hosts.allow portmap:
192.168.100.102
The downstairs computer is 101, the upstairs is 102.
i quickly ran back upstairs in giddy anticipation for it to work, and i
cannot connect. i can ping the machine from upstairs to downstairs and
vice versa. when i come back upstairs i open up the GUI filebrowser and
hit CTRL-L to open up a location and here is what i type to let the
upstairs computer to connect to the downstairs computer:
192.168.100.101:/misc/0/
