Rational vs Cygwin on Win2K

It seems the folks at Rational (Rose, ClearQuest, PureCoverage, etc.) used
the MKS Enterprise Toolkit (fka NuTCracker) to port their software to Windows.

And it seems that when it installs, it sets some environment variables and
makes itself comfy on your machine. That's all well and good, but the
particular variables it likes to set to point to where Rational is installed
(and its MKS Toolkit component) are:

SHELL, TERM, TERMINFO, TERMCAP, ROOTDIR

I'm sure all of us can see the problem with other software such as Cygwin
that use those same variables.

Hope this helps someone else when they see:
"WARNING: terminal is not fully functional" and wonder why their
terminal type is now "nutc".
