install problems :\

i have a p100 acer laptop that i wanna put some form of *nix on. i was
given the idea to do a smb install (kudos to matt walker). the problem is
that i have a xircom ce-10bt pcmcia net card and my red hat 5.2 install boot
disks dont support it. i checked red hat's site and they say that no xircom
card is supported even for red hat 6. oddly however the pcmcia support that
they use does support xircom cards (although not the one i have).

anyone have any ideas? this lappy doesnt have a cdrom drive and only has a
500 meg hard drive.

im gonna attempt to get suse (they actually openly admirt to supporting
xircom cards although not my card specifically, but it might still work)

any other ideas? any recommended distros? anyone know if freebsd will
support the card for such an installation? (i couldnt get on freebsd's site
for some reason)
