A non-Windows World...

I'm going to embark on a journey many think is impossible. I'm completely and
utterly fed up with Windows. Basically, it locks up any time I use dial-up
networking and I just have to hit the reset button. So, my desire is to go to
a completely Linux world, using Windows only in a few instances. I want to
get as much software as possible for Linux to replace my Windows software.
I'm going to start using the GIMP to replace Photoshop, I've got NS
Communicator already, I'm purchasing Applixware next week, and to run a very
few of my favorite Windows 3.11 Entertainment pack games as well as a few
apps, I'm going to be runnign WABI. Are there any other suggestions ya guys
could make to a person who is pondering such a move? Any particular software
I should be looking for? Which distribution is best for this? I'm figuring
either RedHat or Caldera, but I don't know much about Caldera's package
management system. And so it begins...
