You should post your YUM configuration file.  I think you didn't add the
proper repositories or, worse yet, you deleted the Fedora Core ones!

Did you download "XMMS" or "XMMS-MP3"?
And did you download manually or use YUM?

That means the MP3 plug-in is not working.  Again, did you download
"XMMS" or "XMMS-MP3"?

XMMS comes with Fedora.  The XMMS-MP3 plug-in does not, that's what
Livna.ORG provides.  If you merely type "yum install xmms" that will
_not_ install the MP3 plug-in, you already have XMMS.  ;->
