Re: Interview with MPAA's Jack Valente

Yes, he is the Motion Picture Ass. head.

Or, to put a face on the Motion Picture Ass. of America, it would be Jack
Valente's.

He's not just a member of the Motion Picture Ass., he's the president.

It's also notable that the frontrunner for his job after he retires is
Louisiana Representative Billy Tauzin, also known as the half-brother to
the "Senator from Disney", South Carolina Senator Fritz Hollings.

But, he's _not_ the person telling Kid Rock's tale of woe after being ripped
off by teenage downloaders of his entitlement to the life of a lavishly wealthy
rock star. That's Hillary Rosen, the Recording Industry Ass. head.

BTW, did anyone else catch Kid Rock's interview last night with Jay Leno?

He told a short story of his "youthful indiscretions" about when he worked at K-
Mart, after Jay Leno prompted him about his life before he was a big "rock
star".

He explained the reason he wanted to and got a job at K-Mart was so that he
could steal a keyboard. He continued that he was a young, poor musician,
strapped for cash, didn't have enough to pay for one, felt he should be
entitled to it, and stole it. I guess he figured that those rich K-Mart people
wouldn't miss it anyway, and that stealing only one keyboard wasn't a crime. I
found the irony exquisite, given his complete obliviousness to it.

Now if only his songs didn't 5uck, they might be worth the bandwidth to
download and burn copies for friends.
