Re: javascript problem, on a deadline, FIXED.

Thanks anyway, but I finally discovered that Opera, for all its glories,
does not treat textarea values as kindly as it should. They
self-destruct after certain events - onclick is one. Onmouseout,
however, works.

<sigh>
I need more coffee...

Subject: SOS: I must be blind, javascript problem, on a deadline

Can anyone tell me why the perl-generated, sql-driven page
http://www.lib.siu.edu/cgi-bin/gore/matrixWITHalert.pl#
keeps the textarea value change after the alert popup in Opera 6.x,
as well as the OTHER browsers, but the VERY similar page
http://www.lib.siu.edu/cgi-bin/gore/matrix.pl#
does NOT keep the new textarea value in Opera 6.x, and yet DOES work in
the OTHER browsers?

Would like to go home sometime tonight,
Grateful for any help,
Doug Simmons
