copy version 1.01 of 8139too.o to
/lib/modules/2.4.20-2.21/kernel/drivers/net/
insmod 8139too
modprobe 8139too (probably redundant but I did it anyway)

Off to solve the mystery of the USB CDRW. Yes Steve I purchased one.
48x16x40 for $79.

I think it's there already as /etc/fstab has both /mnt/cdrom and
/mnt/cdrom1. I heard a rumor that you don't need the hdx=ide-scsi stuff
anymore. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.............................
