Re: so you wanna be a sysadmin?

The law has already been set on that, by my priority interrupt, I think
the exact words were "no picking up women!" is my condition for being a
bartender, fortunately for me it couldn't possibly pay less than what
I'm making as netadmin, I could make more at quiktrip than I do now

<RANT>
I've always enjoyed the stress to an extent but it's getting to the
point where the money isn't worth the worry, at the end of the day how
many projects are running across ones mind when administrating a
network, and besides they all come to me in person when they can't
figure out how to change fonts in word expecting me to jump and explain
the simplest workings of the computer on a level they can understand
(somewhere just above wild primate), like I don't have five billion
things to do anyway, I think what I would really like right now is a
midnight unix backup operator position, that would be as close to
perfect that I could ask for, but there seems to be something about a
need for knowing C and a B.S. in order to touch unix professionally in
today's age

it's like the 99 movie office space made clear, there are no problems in
IT that cannot be solved by going into heavy construction (or in my case
bar tending), until the job market picks up one must consider ones
alternatives, maybe I'll go and get that B.S. degree that everyone seems
to want, blah!

loose women. bar flys. the "ones your mother told you about". those
ones. the "take me drunk, i'm home" variety. otherwise known as
college
sorority girls.
