Re: scp and passwords

Do the machines use different versions of SSH? (As in version 1 of the protocol versus version 2?)

I use scp (in conjunction with ssh-agent) all the time and don't have this problem.

Subject: scp and passwords

I have been using ssh-agent and ssh-add with
good results when I use ssh. However, when
I use scp, I still get asked for the user
password on a remote machine.

In other words, I can use "ssh othermachine"
without being asked for a password, but when
I use "scp thisfile othermachine:" I do get
asked for a password.

Is this normal?
