I really don't have a good answer for that.  All I know is that the
DWL-1000AP passes the Works For Me test.  I've also heard good things
about the SMC combo access point/router, but nothing (good or bad)
about the stand-alone access point.

The access point just plugs into your hub/switch like any other host.

I have Orinoco Gold cards.  That's what I use every day in my Sceptre.
