Re: RedHat 7.2: What version of kernel?

Thanks.

Question: What is the relationship between the "rawhide" directory and the
directories under "beta"? Is rawhide another beta, or is it a place to store
the "latest and greatest" rpm's?

2.4.7-10 is the version number on it. It seems to perform reasonably
well.

There is also a 2.4.9-0.18 in rawhide that seems decent.

The Red Hat kernels should preform pretty well also since they track
the -ac patches, which have had a stable VM for some time. You need
at least 2.4.10 for a stock Linus kernel to perform reasonably well,
and even it is apparently still fairly broken. (2.4.12 is out now,
BTW.)

I should also note that 2.4.10-ac* don't use the same VM that the
Linus kernels use either.
