Most likely the card (PCI128) is a ES1371 compat device. Creative bought
Ensoniq because Creative did not have a PCI offering and Ensoniq was
slapping Creative silly in the performance dept. Most ES137x's will give
right around 96db S/N. Pretty freaking amazing for a card that is sooo
cheap.

My understanding is that SB compat is for ISA / legacy type devices.

Right... It is looking for something on your ISA bus.

Yank that line (and any other line that references sb) out of
/etc/modules.conf (or was that conf.modules?)
