SILUG: 12/4/2001 O'Fallon meeting reminder, plus special notes

The next O'Fallon meeting of the Southern Illinois Linux Users Group
is scheduled for *tonight*, Tuesday, December 4, 2001 at the O'Fallon
City Library. As usual, the meeting is at 7 PM. See the web site for
the location, driving directions, etc.

Tighe will be giving a presentation on Linux network drivers. To
quote, "Here is the outline of the blurb that I am going to be doing.

1. A talk about where the kernel driver fits into the Kernel
        layer model.
2. A brief yak about whether or not ot compile into the kernel or
        to modulize.
3. Why doesn't module foo work with hardware bar? Aren't
        they the same?
4. Q&A with my semi-literate ass.

I should be able to answer most of your questions. Some though will
make me cranky so be careful."

(Sorry, Tighe. I couldn't resist. That's the best description of a
presentation that I've seen in a *long* time. ;-)

On a more serious note, there are three items of interest that I need
to point out:

    * First, please note that next month's meeting will not be held,
since it would have been scheduled for January 1.

    * Second, we're having a holiday party soon. If you are
interested in coming or want more details, contact Kara
      <kara@silug.org>.

    * Third, you should now be able to receive silug-discuss in
digest form. If this is something you might be interested in,
      email me.

See you tonight. :-)

Steve
